You buy it once, it's yours. Your files never leave your machine. If our servers die, the app keeps working.
1. License grant
When you purchase TaskHolder, you receive a personal, perpetual license to install and use the app. The license covers your own machines (with a straightforward transfer process when you replace one) and never expires.
You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app itself. Everything you create with it is entirely yours.
2. Free trial
The trial gives you every feature for 14 days, with a free account and no payment details. When it ends, the app stops opening projects until licensed — but your files are plain markdown on your own disk and remain fully accessible with any editor.
3. Payment & refunds
TaskHolder is a one-time purchase of $39, processed by our payment partner. Prices in other currencies follow the checkout display at time of purchase.
Since the 14-day trial is the full product, we encourage deciding before buying. If something is genuinely wrong with your purchase, contact us within 14 days and we will make it right.
4. Updates (2-year window)
Your purchase includes all updates released within 2 years of your purchase date — features, fixes, and compatibility work alike.
After the window closes, your app keeps working forever at the last version you received. The window gates new versions only; it is not a kill switch and never disables anything you already have.
5. Fail-open policy
License validation is engineered fail-open: if our license server is unreachable, degraded, or permanently gone, validation passes and the app continues to work. Your license can never be revoked by an outage, and no server event can lock you out of your own tool or files.
6. Privacy & local data
Your plan documents never leave your machine. The app operates on local files, works fully offline, and encrypts sensitive values at rest using your operating system's keychain. The only network calls the app makes are license activation and update checks — neither carries the contents of your documents.
Your account data (email, license status, purchase records) is stored with the processors listed in our Privacy Policy, which also documents the site's cookie use. The website sets no analytics or tracking cookies.
7. Warranty
TaskHolder is provided "as is." We work hard on file fidelity — unmodified lines export byte-identical on file-imported projects — but you should keep your plans under version control like any other important file. Liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license.
8. Accounts
A free account (Google sign-in or an email link — no password) is required to download the trial and holds your license. One account per person; keep access to your sign-in email, since it is how a license is recovered or transferred.
You may delete your account yourself at any time from the account page. Deletion permanently removes your sign-in, license activation, download history, and preferences — a purchased license cannot be recovered after deletion. Your local files are yours and are unaffected. Accounts used for abuse (automated scraping of downloads, resale of licenses, attacks on the service) may be suspended.
